Most potential issues can be well avoided by correct husbandry practices. Spending a bit of extra money and time on the cage environment and setup along with maintaining good hygiene practices can save one plenty of cash and heartache in the long run. It's wise to research individual husbandry requirements for a new species as much as possible before adding it to your collection. Most general husbandry requirements are covered in the care sheet pages and associated links.
